MiriamCamden Carers was recommended to me by someone who already uses the service as she had heard I was caring for my partner. They knew I was creative and believe that it would be beneficial for me. Since joining the Art group I have been able to be creative without constraints on my caring role. Using different mediums I am able to objectify my feelings and emotions with shape, line, colour and texture and in the process produce abstract paintings which are significant to me and also resonate with the viewer. The facilitator Richard is supportive and professional and enables me to share aspects of myself that I would not be able to do elsewhere giving me the confidence and motivation to express my creativity. In addition, the group is a space whereby I can think, reflect, and share my art and experiences; to make sense of who I am, give meaning to my life and above all peace of mind.
