Jo HannahI started the art group at Camden Carers 3 years ago whilst in the 8th year of caring for her mother who had Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Painting felt almost magical, its therapeutic properties enabling a great release of pent-up feelings and emotions, in a group with access to expert tuition yet a completely non-judgmental safe space. I continue to use painting as a therapeutic tool, and a catalyst into creativity in general, and is developing an interest in experimenting with various techniques and materials. If I thanked Camden Carers for saving my life it wouldn’t be much of an exaggeration. Thank you.
